You know the Meme, Nailed It? Where epic fails are recorded alongside stunning quality. I made my first food blog video under the misguided advice, “any kid could do it!” I did make a video, 5 minutes way too long with buzzy sound, comic sans credits, Ken Burns effect, bad lighting and who knew I had so much vocal fry?
I now know, what I don’t/didn’t know about video making. Here is the short list:
- It is not that hard.
- It is that hard.
- Why isn’t my sound track loading?
- Voiceover racing.
- Changing speed.
- Widescreen proportions mean I am headless.
- Text over an image?
- Thank you Randy Nelson, “Success requires failure,” has been my mantra.
- “You can always scrap it and start over,” from award winning filmmaker, Dara Brady.
Back to the drawing board. I will make a video this MoFo.
Off to the market to buy dill, for the Pink Soup of my childhood.
